Blog Code of conduct
YouHaveThePower blog is written by Western Power's Sustainability Assessment and Community Engagement Team, with additional contributions from Western Power employees.
We will at all times retain editorial control over content. Our standards of business conduct and organisation values will guide what we write about - so there are some topics we won't comment on such as information about financials, intellectual property, management changes, lawsuits, employment relations issues, and contractual agreements with alliance partners, customers and suppliers.
We will:
- strive to have an open and honest dialogue with our readers
- correct inaccurate or misleading postings in a timely manner
- delete posts if they violate our values or policies (including the comment policy)
- disclose all relevant conflicts of interest regarding the infrastructure project that is the subject of a blog, and
- disclose any sources fully through credits, links and trackbacks, unless the source has requested anonymity.
We may provide links to relevant material available on other blogs and websites.
We understand that respect goes both ways - we will use good judgment in our posts and respond to you in a respectful manner. In return, we ask the same of you.
We trust you will be mindful of the information you share on our blog - any personally identifiable information you share on our blog can be seen by anyone with access to the blog. You must when posting information or comments on our blog take measures to protect your own private, personal and corporate information, and to not infringe upon the proprietary, privacy or personal rights of others.
We will use good judgment in protecting personal and corporate information (including intellectual property rights) and in respecting the privacy of individuals who use our blog, but Western Power will take no responsibility whatsoever for private, personal and corporate information shared by you on our blog.
